Start with your existing account

Which sign-in route did you use?

  1. Open your usual app or saved website. If you have moved to a new device, check your original registration email for the service and country you joined.
  2. Choose Sign In. A questionnaire asking you to create a profile may be registration. Return to member sign-in before entering more details.
  3. Use your original method. If a provider or code option is displayed, use it only if it is how you previously accessed this account.

You do not need a second profile to recover the first one.

Choose what happened

Having trouble signing in?

Open the symptom that matches your screen. A connection error, a rejected password and a missing reset email need different checks.

My password is not accepted
  1. Check Caps Lock. If your sign-in screen has a password-visibility control, use it privately to check for typing errors or unintended spaces.
  2. Type the password once instead of accepting an old saved entry. Keep any spaces that are part of your actual password.
  3. If it is still rejected, use the password-reset option on that sign-in screen. Stop guessing, especially if an attempt limit or wait message appears.

After a successful reset: update the saved password for that service on your device so the next attempt does not reuse the old one. A general error about your details does not identify which field is wrong.

I cannot remember which email or login method I used

Search your own inboxes for the original SilverSingles registration or purchase confirmation. Compare the recipient address, including any spelling differences, with the email you are entering.

If you previously used a provider button or a phone-based option, check whether that same method appears on your usual sign-in screen. Do not assume Apple, Google, mobile-number or email-code login is available for every account.

No longer able to open that inbox? Explain the lost email access through the account-support route. Creating another profile will not identify or recover the original account.

The reset email has not arrived
  1. Check the address entered on the reset screen against the registration email.
  2. Look in Spam or Junk and search that inbox for SilverSingles. A search result alone does not establish that a message is authentic.
  3. Follow any resend waiting time shown on screen. Avoid requesting several messages in quick succession.
  4. If several arrive, use the newest message that corresponds to a request you made. For an expired link, begin again from the usual sign-in screen.

Still missing? Tell account support when you requested the reset and whether you can receive other email at that address. Do not forward an active reset link or code.

I sign in and return to the same screen
  1. Close duplicate login tabs, especially pages for a different country, and reopen the website you normally use.
  2. Check whether the browser is blocking cookies or site storage needed to retain a sign-in. Review permissions for that service only.
  3. If you are in private browsing, try a normal window on your own device. Check whether an extension is interfering with the sign-in screen.
  4. Try an up-to-date browser once. Record whether the loop occurs there too.

Keep the original error or screenshot before changing settings. Clearing all browsing data is not the first step: it can sign you out of other services and remove useful saved information.

The app opens my account, but the website will not

An app that remains signed in may be using an existing session; it does not prove that the password saved in your browser is current. Keep the working app session while checking the account email and the website you opened.

Compare the country, email and original sign-in method. Do not reinstall the app or sign out of your only working session as the first check. Report the difference as “app access works; website sign-in fails”, with the website error and device details.

I see a connection error, a wait message or a service error

Connection problem: check whether another website loads on the same device. Restore the connection before trying again.

Too many attempts: stop and follow the waiting instruction shown. Opening more tabs or devices is not a useful way to bypass a limit.

Temporary service problem: save the wording and time, then follow any retry instruction. A service error is not evidence that the account was deleted.

Only when your sign-in screen requests it

Asked to verify it is you?

Read the partially hidden email address or phone number before requesting a code. If you recognise and can access it, follow the prompt and enter the code only in the verification screen you opened.

The destination is yours, but no code arrives
Check the relevant inbox or messages and follow the resend delay displayed by the service.
The destination is old or unfamiliar
Use the support or recovery option shown. Do not ask another person to receive the code for you.
A code arrives when you did not try to sign in
Do not share or approve it. Open your account through your usual route and review access.

Check before making another purchase

Signed in, but your account looks different?

A changed layout alone does not mean it is the wrong account. Compare the registered email, profile details, existing conversations and purchase confirmation. Check whether you opened a different country website or used another login method.

If the account identity or membership record does not match, pause before paying again or creating a profile. Record the difference and report it as an account-access issue so support can investigate the existing record.

When a sign-in request feels wrong

Protect your account at sign-in

  • Read the address bar. This guidance belongs to www.silversinglesuk.uk. Before entering credentials elsewhere, confirm that the address matches the service you registered with. A familiar logo or padlock alone is not proof.
  • Open your usual route. An unexpected message asking you to sign in should not be your starting point. Never send a password or one-time security code to someone claiming to be support.
  • End sessions on shared devices. Use Sign Out when finished. Avoid saving your password or choosing a persistent sign-in option on a computer other people use.

If someone may have taken over your account, secure the registered email first. Do not give anyone remote access to online banking. If money or personal information is also involved, follow the steps for recovering from an online dating scam.

One clear account-access request

Still unable to sign in?

Include your registered email, original login method, device, browser or app, approximate UK date and time, and the exact error. State whether any other device still opens the account and which checks you have completed.

Leave out passwords, security codes and active reset links. Use the account-support option shown by the service where you registered; the Help Centre explains how to prepare the request.
