Photo-check help for members aged 50+

Know What Profile Verification Confirms

SilverSingles photo verification compares a live selfie video with the person shown in the account’s public profile photos. Passing that check can support a Verified badge, but it does not confirm every profile statement, a person’s intentions or how they will behave away from the service.

Your status is shown only in your SilverSingles account. SilverSingles UK cannot read member accounts, so silversinglesuk.uk will never display a personal verification result or ask you to upload a video.

Do not confuse the checks

Profile review and verification are not the same

The label attached to a check matters. A review of profile content, a selfie-video comparison and a background search answer different questions.

What each process can and cannot establish
ProcessWhat it checksWhat it does not confirm
Profile reviewSubmitted text and photographs may be assessed against publication rules. That every statement in the profile is accurate.
Photo verificationA live selfie video is assessed against the person shown in the public profile photos.Legal name, home address, work, income, relationship status, intentions or future conduct.
Criminal background screeningSilverSingles states that it does not conduct criminal background checks on members.A badge is not evidence that a criminal-record search has taken place.

Before opening the camera

Check these before you begin

  • Keep at least one clear public profile photo showing your face.
  • Use even front lighting so your whole face is visible without strong backlight.
  • Clean the camera lens and remove anything that hides much of your face.
  • Allow camera access for the browser or SilverSingles app you are using.
  • Use a stable internet connection and leave enough time to follow the prompts without closing the screen.

One pass, in the right order

Complete the selfie-video check

Begin from the verification prompt inside the SilverSingles service where your account was created. There is no verification upload form on silversinglesuk.uk.

  1. 1
    Open the account prompt

Use the verification screen displayed after signing in, not a link sent by an unknown person.

  2. 2
    Allow camera access

If access was denied earlier, change the site or app permission before trying again.

  3. 3
Fit your face inside the guide

Keep your full face visible, hold the device steady and use enough light.

  4. 4
    Follow the movement shown

Complete only the live action requested on screen. Do not upload verification media to this website or an ordinary contact form.

  5. 5
    Check the response before repeating

The public help material does not publish a review time or confirm that interrupted progress is saved. Return to your account and read the current message before resubmitting.

Troubleshoot the first failure

Find the reason before trying again

Choose the symptom you can actually see. Changing several things at once makes it harder to know what fixed the problem.

The camera does not open

Check the browser or app camera permission first. Close another programme that may be using the camera, reopen the verification screen and try once more.

Your face is not detected

Move away from strong backlight, centre your head inside the on-screen circle and keep your full face visible. Wipe the lens if the image looks misty.

The selfie video does not match

Confirm that the public profile photo clearly shows you and is reasonably current. A group picture, heavy filter or photograph of somebody else gives the comparison poor evidence.

The upload stops

Check the connection, keep the page or app open and repeat the check from the account prompt. If it fails at the same point, note the device, browser or app and the time.

The same review message remains

Do not submit several new videos simply because no time estimate is shown. Record the wording and when you completed the check; contact official account support if it does not change.

The result is unsuccessful

Read the displayed reason before retrying. Correct that one issue, take a screenshot without exposing private messages, then try again only when the account offers that action.

A confirmed cancellation trigger

Deleting every public photo cancels verification

SilverSingles specifically warns that photo verification is cancelled when all public photos are deleted. Add an appropriate public face photo and follow the fresh account prompt before assuming the earlier result will return.

Read the badge narrowly

Use verification as one signal

A Verified badge can show that the photo-verification check connected with it was completed. It supports one useful conclusion: the live person assessed during the check matched the person shown in the submitted profile photos.

It does not show that the member is single, that every biographical detail is correct, that their intentions match yours or that they have passed a background check. Look for consistency over time instead of asking one badge to answer every question.

Reducing doubt about whether the account user resembles the public profile photos.
Not proof of
Name, address, work, finances, relationship status, personal history or offline conduct.

When the standard check is difficult

Ask for help before repeated attempts

If low vision, difficulty holding a device, a facial difference or a movement prompt prevents completion, stop repeating the same attempt. SilverSingles does not publish an alternative verification method in its current public help, so ask the account-support team which supported option is available for your account.

Before you record

Read the notice attached to the verification screen

Current SilverSingles help confirms that a selfie video is used for the photo check. It does not state a UK-specific retention period, identify every processor or say that the submitted video is visible to other members.

Read the consent and processing information shown immediately before recording. If it does not explain how the video will be used, stop and ask official account support. Verification media should be submitted only through the account’s verification screen.

Account-specific questions

What to confirm on your own screen

Is SilverSingles profile verification required?

Use the prompt shown in your SilverSingles account as the authority for your account. Public guidance describes the photo-verification process but does not publish one UK status list that applies to every account.

Can I complete photo verification on a computer?

SilverSingles troubleshooting refers to both browser and app camera permissions. A computer may therefore work when the verification prompt is available in your browser and the camera is permitted.

Complete the verification with clear expectations

Open the SilverSingles service where you registered and use the verification prompt shown inside your account. This information website does not provide a verification upload route.
